3-4-3 Theory3
(Above) 3-4-3 playing defense with the opponent’s R defender with the ball. Note how compact the field of play has become. The forwards apply immediate pressure. The defensive line has rotated to the strong side of the field. We will leave space for the L forward. However, our immediate pressure will keep their L forward from being played the ball. It is a 60 yard pass. If the pass is miss-hit, we will have a turnover in our offensive 3rd. Our goalie is positioned at the arc, so any overhit ball will be played by our goalie. If they are able to get the pass off, there are very few high school forwards that have enough skill to control the ball and convert it into a scoring opportunity. Our RM provides balance to chase the ball in the air if it is hit accurately.
